Dr Yeo Sow Nam is the director of The Pain Specialist, Mount Elizabeth Hospitals (Orchard and Novena), founding Chairman of Chapter of Pain Medicine Clinicians, Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

He is the chairman of Pain management Task Force, Parkway Pantai hospitals. He founded and is the current chairman of The Pain Medicine Physician Chapter, Academy of Medicine, Singapore since 2019.

 

He was appointed as an examiner for the esteemed fellowship of interventional pain practice, awarded by world institute of pain and is the only Southeast Asian to be given this honour.

Dr Yeo is trained in Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney and was the first in Singapore to obtain accreditation in the pain management specialty, awarded by the Australian and New Zealand Faculty of Pain Medicine. He is also the first Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (USA) in Singapore and a registered acupuncturist. He is also a Anaesthetist and had accreditation by both the local Specialist Accreditation Board and the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

Dr Yeo has been described as evangelical in pain management and has given over 100 local and international lectures and has also published over 70 articles and abstracts.

 
He is also the co-author for Ministry of Health’s Clinical Practice Guidelines for cancer pain and the author of the Ministry of Health’s Clinical Practice Guidelines for Use of Opioids for non-Cancer Pain. Recognising pain being multidisciplinary, he started an Advisory Board of many members of different disciplines for the Pain Association of Singapore. He was the founder and past director of Pain Management Centre, and Director of Acupuncture Services at Singapore General Hospital.
